Why a muslim devotee is remembered in Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra

Rath Yatra, a vibrant South Asian festival, celebrates deities with grand processions. The festival has roots in Hindu traditions. A tale inspires devotees: Subalega, a Muslim devotee. Born around 1607–1608 AD, Subalega's devotion to Lord Jagannath is unique. Wounded in battle, he recovered after chanting Lord Krishna's name. He then devoted himself to Lord Jagannath. His bhajans express love for the Lord. During Rath Yatra, Lord Jagannath's chariot pauses near Subalega's Samadhi, honoring his devotion.
